Alleged shooter turns himself in

December 2, 2009 By WRN Contributor

As Beloit community members gathered for a prayer vigil Tuesday near the site of the city’s most recent homicide, the suspect turned himself in at the police department. Beloit Police Captain Bill Tyler says 27-year-old Antonio Mance was taken into custody without incident. Tyler says Mance will make a court appearance within 24 hours after being taken into custody.

Last week 22-year-old Derick Kimber was shot while in his vehicle which then crashed into the parking lot of an elementary school. Kimber was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 24-year-old man from Chicago was also injured in the shooting.
