Searching for a killer

An intensive manhunt is underway for the suspect in four murders in the Madison-area, where police have issued an All Points Bulletin for 38 year-old Tyrone Adair.

Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain says 38 year-old Tyrone Adair is believed responsible for killing two adult women and two young girls, in separate incidents Thursday night.

Adair could be driving a silver GMC Acadia crossover SUV with Wisconsin license plate 342-EBL. “He should be considered armed and dangerous,” says DeSpain. “If you see him, if you see this vehicle, call 911 immediately.”

The bodies of a mother and daughter were found in a car in Park Edge Drive on Madison’s southwest side. The toddler apparently was alive at the scene, but died on the way to the hospital. A couple hours later, another woman and a young girl were found dead in the trunk of a car on Branch Street in Middleton. They might have been shot somewhere else, and dumped there. Adair “specifically targeted” the victims, says DeSpain. Police say he had a relationship with each of the adult women.

“Having said that, we obviously have someone who’s snapped. He’s become very dangerous and is obviously armed with a gun. People need to exercise caution.”

Names of the victims have not been released yet. “At this point we’re still trying to put the pieces together,” says DeSpain, adding that the Madison victims were found inside their car, which was parked in the garage. “Whether or not he surprised them as they pulled into the garage, we’re still taking a look at that.”
