Health officials at UW-Madison are preparing for what could be another wave of swine flu cases. The school was one of a handful of campuses nationwide that dealt with a large outbreak of the H1N1 flu virus from the first day of classes back in the fall, and there are concerns of another wave of cases as students return for the spring semester.
Sarah Van Orman, Executive Director of University Health Services, admits the virus is hard to predict. The good news is H1N1 is turning out to be relatively mild and not as severe as initially feared.

Van Orman says about 6,200 doses of the H1N1 vaccine have been distributed, short of the 20,000 doses she had hoped to distribute.
UW-Madison was hit with a large peak of flu cases at the beginning of the fall semester; and a smaller one in November.
