Sunday night was the first time in 50-years that Team U.S.A defeated Team Canada in Olympic Hockey. The Americans topped the Canadians 5-3 to move to 3-0 in the preliminary round.
In the 1990-1991 Hockey Season, Brian Rafalski was skating with the Madison Capitols. He then played the next four seasons with the Badger Hockey Team. Sunday, Rafalski netted a pair of goals and notched an assist for Team U.S.A.
During his time with the Badgers, Rafalski earned the WCHA defensive player of the year and was an all-conference player in 1995. He also was on the NCAA West All-Star team. Currently, Rafalski is in his 10th season in the NHL and third with the Detroit Red Wings.
Team U.S.A will have a bye to the quarterfinals of the Olympic Hockey Tournament with their (3-0) preliminary round finish. They will continue play later in the week.
