Stricker in the hunt at Northern Trust

Dustin Johnson fired a 7-under par 64 to take a 1-shot lead after the first round of the PGA Tour’s Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles. 

Argentine Andres Romero finished with four straight birdies to shoot a 65, 1-shot behind Johnson. 

Madison’s Steve Stricker was one of three golfers to shoot a first-round 67 and trail the leader by 4-shots.

Other Wisconsin golfers in the field, Mark Wilson finished the first round at 1-over par and Jerry Kelly finished 2-over.
