Badger women fall in OT to Iowa

March 1, 2010 By Bill Scott

The Wisconsin Badger women’s basketball team will enter the Big Ten Tournament as the #4 seed after falling to Iowa in overtime 68-60 in the regular season finale at the Kohl Center on Sunday.   Iowa’s win pulled them into a third place tie with the Badgers, but tie-breakers gave the Hawkeyes the #3 seed.

Wisconsin will face 5th seeded Purdue in the Big Ten quarterfinals on Friday night, after receiving a bye in Thursday’s opening round.  The Badgers (20-9, 10-8 Big Ten) split the two game regular season series with the Boilermakers.

Senior guard Rae Lin D’Alie had 15 points to lead the Badgers, who hit just 5 of 24 three-pointers (20.8%) and 22 of 63 field goal attempts overall (34.9%).
