For the first time in his collegiate career, Wisconsin’s Jon Leuer has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week.
Leuer helped the Badgers clinch the No. 4 seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament. The junior averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocks, while shooting 73% from the field in wins over Iowa and Illinois.
With Leuer back in the Badgers’ starting line-up, Wisconsin has won three straight games by an average margin of 24.7 points per game. Leuer is second on the Badgers team in scoring, averaging 14.9 points per game.
This is the second Player of the Week honor for a Badger player this season, joining Trevon Hughes, who was honored back in early December.
