Marquette pulls out third straight overtime win

March 1, 2010 By Bill Scott

The Marquette Golden Eagles won their 3rd straight overtime game, knocking off Seton Hall 84-83 in Newark, New Jersey.

All five Marquette starters scored in double figures, led by Lazar Hayward’s 23 points.  It’s the 13th time this season that the Golden Eagles have been involved in a game that was decided by five points or less.

The Golden Eagles reached 10 Big East Conference wins for the 5th year in a row and may have punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.  Marquette is tied with Louisville for 5th place in the Big East and will square off against each other on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center.
