Marquette wins in WNIT

The Marquette women’s basketball team forced Eastern Illinois into 30 turnovers and it led to a 85-56 win for the Golden Eagles in the opening round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) on Thursday night at the Al McGuire Center. 

Marquette (17-15) will play the winner of tonight’s game between Illinois and Western Kentucky in the next round.

Freshman Sarina Simmons had 14 to lead Marquette.  Angel Robinson added 12 points and 9 assists.
