Spring temps will give way to snow

March 15, 2010 By Brian Moon

Wisconsinites capped off the weekend with spring-like temperatures but we won’t see a repeat on Saturday. Meteorologist Chris McGinness of WDJT Milwaukee says the state saw unseasonably warm temperatures.

The CBS 58 Morning News meteorologist says the warm weather should continue this week and then “a little shot of cold air” which will arrive in the north and northwest parts of the state on Friday, into the south Saturday. Snow is expected in much of the state this weekend.

Meanwhile the National Weather Service says at 66 degrees Sunday, La Crosse had its warmest day for this early in the year in a decade when the average temperature was 68-and-a-half degrees on March 7, 2000.  Amazingly, La Crosse also had one of its longest stretches ever with snow on the ground. A string of 95 straight days with a half-inch or more ended on Friday.
