Teen faces adult charges in OD death

March 9, 2010 By WRN Contributor

A 14-year-old girl from Edgerton will be tried as an adult in the overdose death of another teen. That’s the ruling today from a Rock County judge regarding one of the teens arrested in last month’s prescription overdose death in the Edgerton area.

The girl is accused of stealing Oxycodone from her grandmother’s purse, then giving it to a 13-year-old boy who is accused of sharing it with is 13-year-old friend Alex Aiken.

Authorities say the two took the pills, which was a fatal dose for Aiken. The other boy reportedly threw-up his pill and was hospitalized. He was charged with possession of a prescription drug. He was released on home detention to his mother this morning.

A criminal complaint on this case is expected on Thursday.
