Reports say Packers interested in Eagles FA Westbrook

April 13, 2010 By Bill Scott

According to a report in today’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers are exploring the possibility of adding former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook to their roster.

Westbrook missed 8 games last season with a pair of concussions.  Many thought he would retire.  But apparently Westbrook is interested in continuing to play and the Packers are at least interested in seeing if he’s healthy enough to do so.

If the Packers were to sign Westbrook, they’d likely give him a chance to be the teams 3rd down back.  Westbrook has excellent hands, catching passes out of the backfield.
