Suppan demoted, Narveson moves into rotation

April 26, 2010 By Bill Scott

After two poor starts, Jeff Suppan is out of the Milwaukee Brewers starting rotation and lefty Chris Narveson is in.  Narveson will pitch the series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon.

Suppan allowed five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Cubs on Friday.  All told, Suppan in his two starts, is 0-1 with an 8.68 ERA.

Narveson made four starts near the end of last season.  In 12 games, he went 2-0 with a 2.48 ERA.  Narveson also had a strong spring.

Brewers manager Ken Macha was asked yesterday what’s next if Narveson doesn’t do the job.
