WIAC schools favor well in NCAA Directors Cup Standings

Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools are ranked in the top 10 of the 2009-2010 NCAA Division III Learfield Sports Directors Cup Standings following the winter sports season. 

UW-Stevens Point leads the WIAC contingent with a fourth-place standing after accumulating 515.50 points.  UW-La Crosse is seventh with 471.75 points and UW-Whitewater 10th with 422.25 points. 

Williams College (Mass.) leads this years standings with 896.75 points.

The standings recognize the best NCAA Division III overall athletics programs in the country. 

The Learfield Sports Directors Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 18 sports, both men’s and women’s.
