Brewers’ Gomez starts rehab today

May 19, 2010 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez, the teams opening day centerfielder, will be in uniform today and tomorrow for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Gomez was placed on the disabled list with a strained rotator cuff in his left shoulder and a strained left knee.  He’ll play the next two days with the Brewers single-A affiliate and could join the Brewers in time for the start of their weekend series with the Minnesota Twins.

Wisconsin beat Peoria 14-1 last night, allowing the Chiefs just one base hit.
