Whether Trevor Hoffman agrees to step down as the Milwaukee Brewers closer or management forces that decision, one thing is certainly clear, it’s time the Brewers find somebody else to close out games.
Hoffman blew his 5th save in the Brewers 5-4 loss to the Reds on Tuesday afternoon, sending the Brewers to their season high 8th straight loss.
Hoffman entered in the 9th, asked to protect a 4-2 lead. But Hoffman allowed all five batters he faced to reach base. Hoffman fell to 1-3 with a 13.15 ERA. His 5-blown saves is one more than all of last year.
Ryan Braun homered in the loss. The Brewers open a 2-game series in Pittsburgh against the Pirates tonight.
