Five hour standstill on interstate

May 21, 2010 By WRN Contributor

A traffic crash along Interstate-94 in Racine County leads to a “nightmare scenario” for other motorists. The cargo container from a southbound semi comes off and pushes part of a construction zone median wall into the northbound lanes, causing two other big rigs to crash, along with a car. Two drivers were hurt with one “flighted” to Milwaukee, but nothing serious.

Debris was everywhere, including loaves of bread, plus diesel fuel. Other vehicles were stopped for over an hour, with law enforcement being creative in their diversionary tactics, but the backups last for miles. More than 5-hours later, it was back to normal.
