Winter may have ended a month and a half ago but a little reminder is headed to Wisconsin. Scott Cultice with the National Weather Service in Green Bay says across far northern Wisconsin will be changing from rain to snow this afternoon into tonight.

As of Friday, the National Weather Service issued winter weather advisories for the Northwoods.

Cutice says the winter like weather will be a little less severe the more south you go.

Cultice says Madison’s rainfall may turn to light snow overnight and Milwaukee is “right on the cusp” for rain and snow by early Saturday morning. Most of the snow is expected to clear by Sunday, according the meteorologist.

Snow is not completely unheard of this time of year. Parts of Vilas County had three-inches on May 12th of 2006. Rhinelander had 10-inches on this day in 1960.
