Badgers land in-state star for 2011 football class

June 30, 2010 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin football coach Brett Bielema has landed an in-state star from Arrowhead for his 2011 football recruiting class.

Derek Landisch, who gave his oral commitment on Tuesday, is a two-way player at Arrowhead, but the Badgers will be looking for him to take on a defensive role.  Landisch has played both inside and outside linebacker with the Warhawks.

Landisch chose Wisconsin after offers from Illinois State, Northern Illinois and South Dakota.  He also had a number of Big Ten schools calling, including Ohio State.
