Brewers offense sputters in 7-2 loss to Rangers

June 14, 2010 By Bill Scott

Too much Colby Lewis turned out to be a bad thing for the Milwaukee Brewers.  Lewis tossed 8-innings of 3-hit ball, striking out 10 and walking only 1.  He also helped his own cause with a 2-out, bases loaded, 2-run single to extend the Rangers to a 4-1 lead and opened things up for a Texas win.

Lewis’ only mistakes were a pair of solo home runs to Prince Fielder.  Everybody else, he held in check to improve 6-4.

Yovani Gallardo (6-3) took the loss, his first since April 10th.  Josh Hamilton homered for the AL West-leading Rangers, who won for the 5th time in the last six games.

The Brewers dropped 2 of 3 in the series and finished the home stand with a 3-3 mark.
