Falling concrete kills one, injures two in Milwaukee

June 25, 2010 By WRN Contributor

Kick off for Summerfest coincides with tragedy in downtown Milwaukee. A 30-foot concrete slab fell off part of a parking garage Tuesday afternoon, killing one person and injuring two others. It happened at the William F. O’Donnell parking garage, just a few blocks away from Summerfest, which was beginning its 11-day run Thursday.

The two victims who were not killed were taken to separate hospitals. The extent of their injuries wasn’t known although police said they are expected to survive.
