The Green Bay Packers hit the practice field on Monday for day 1 of their final offseason minicamp. Head Coach Mike McCarthy says that he expects all of the Packers who are recovering from injury to be ready to go by the start of training camp except one.
McCarthy says that Al Harris is working hard to rehab his injured knee but he doesn’t expect him to be ready to go when players report on July 30th. McCarthy says that Harris will be given as much time as he needs to recover from his injury.
McCarthy also said that he doesn’t take it personal that safety Atari Bigby is holding out and refusing to sign his restricted free agent tender. He says that players need to do what’s best for their family and its part of the business.
With Bigby out, rookie Morgan Burnett has been able to workout with the first team and has been solid.
The Packers have a workout set for Tuesday and Wednesday before stepping away from the practice field until Training Camp opens up on Friday, July 30th.
