Jeffress starts road back with Timber Rattlers

June 14, 2010 By Bill Scott

Former Milwaukee Brewers top draft pick Jeremy Jeffress last pitched in a game on June 22nd of 2009.  Jeffress is coming off of a 100-game suspension for violating the Minor League Drug Treatment and Prevention program a second time.

Jeffress threw 17 pitches and topped out his fastball at 96 miles per hour.  He allowed no hits, no walks and struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.  The scoreless frame came in the 8th and preserved a 7-7 tie at the time.

The Timber Rattlers say they’ll take things slow with Jeffress, sitting him for a couple of days before having him pitch again.

The Timber Rattlers lost the game 8-7 to Dayton.
