New effort targets speeders

June 11, 2010 By WRN Contributor

Law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin are joining forces to crack down on speeders. Major Dan Lonsdorf with the State Patrol says a major corridor grant project will focus on speed and aggressive driving, mainly across the I-90/94 corridor and on Highway 41 from north of Milwaukee to Green Bay. “We’re going to have our certain number of core officers that are always working these main roads, but we’re going to ad a lot more officers,” said Lonsdorf. “We’re going to throw in a third element, which is kind of unique to this effort. We’re going to have a State Patrol aircraft to work some of these details.”
