WIAA Approves 5 Divisions for Hoops & FB League

The WIAA Board of Controls voted 10-0 on Thursday to expand the boys and girls state basketball tournaments from four to five divisions for the upcoming season.  Just 4 teams in Division One will now earn a trip to Madison rather than 8 which had been the norm.

The WIAA also voted 7-3 to create at 16 team football only conference by merging the Wisconsin Valley and Fox Valley Association. 

 The North Division will consist of; Wausau East, Wausau West, DC Everest, Appleton East, Appleton North, Appleton West, Kimberly, & Kaukauna

 The South Division will include; Fond du Lac, Oshkosh North, Oshkosh West, Neenah, Menasha, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, and Marshfield.

The new league will begin play in 2011.
