Brewers Lose Game, Gallardo

July 5, 2010 By Bill Scott

The St. Louis Cardinals earned a series split with the Brewers on Sunday with a 7-1 win over Milwaukee.

The third inning was a nightmare for the Crew as St. Louis scored five unearned runs off of starter Yovani Gallardo. The floodgates opened after a pair of errors by Alcedes Escobar.  Late in the frame, Gallardo left with a strained left oblique muscle.  He’ll be evaluated today by team doctors and may miss his next start.  Corey Hart hit his 19th homer for Milwaukee’s only run. Gallardo drops to 8-4 with the loss.  Adam Wainwright improved to 12-5 with the win.

The Giants come to town to open up a three game series this afternoon.  Dave Bush will start against Johathan Sanchez.  They will throw the first pitch at 3:10pm at Miller Park.
