Badgers’ Leuer selected to train with National Team

basketball players invited to Las Vegas to train against the USA National Team.  After an impressive showing, Leuer has accepted one of 10 invitations from USA Basketball to participate on another USA Men’s Select Team that will train against the 2010 USA Men’s World Championship Team in New York City.

Leuer led the Badgers in scoring (15.4 pts) and rebounding (5.8 rpg) in 24 games last season.

Leuer and his teammates will be training against the USA National Team from Aug. 9-13.  He’ll be joined on the Select Team by:  JaJuan Johnson (Purdue); Shelvin Mack (Butler); Kyle Singler (Duke); Chris Singleton (Florida State); Nolan Smith (Duke); Howard Thompkins (Georgia); Mike Tisdale (Illinois); Kemba Walker (Connecticutt); and Chris Wright (Dayton).

Villanova head coach Jay Wright will also return to direct the 2010 USA Select Team in New York.
