Hoffman holds off Cardinals, earns save #598

The Milwaukee Brewers handed the St. Louis Cardinals their 4th straight

loss, winning 3-2 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on Wednesday.  Randy Wolf allowed just 3-hits in 8 1/3 innings to earn his 10th win of the season.

After the Cardinals plated two runs in the 9th, Trevor Hoffman came on to strike out Brendan Ryan with two outs and the bases loaded to end it, earning his 598th career save. 

Rookie Lorenzo Cain had 2-hits, scored twice and drove in a run for the Brewers, who are 18-9 at Busch Stadium over the last three seasons.  The Cardinals lost another game in the standings, falling 3 games behind the division leading Cincinnati Reds.
