“Mooving” story about a kid’s talent

August 19, 2010 By WRN Contributor

A youngster from Racine County is basking in the spotlight of a unique state championship. Ten-year old Austin Siok of Burlington will be going back to school soon with almost rock star status, based on all the attention he’s been getting for winning the “mooing” contest at the Wisconsin State Fair. Austin says his practicing guitar sounds eventually led to what became his championship cow call.

The boy also competed and did well at the Racine County Fair. He says moving up the next level was a bit scary at first, “I was nervous but then I just got over my fear.”

Austin won a year’s supply of Cousin’s Subs, which sponsored the State Fair contest and a Golden Cow Bell as a trophy, but he really thinks it cool his name comes up on Google.
