Stricker happy with opening round at Bridgestone

Madison’s Steve Stricker fired a 2-under par 68 in the opening round of the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.

Stricker is 4-shots behind Bubba Watson who opened with a 6-under par 64.  Kenny Perry, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Graeme McDowell are 2-shots off the lead after opening round 4-under par 66’s.  Tiger Woods is 10-shots off the lead after a 4-over par 74.

Stricker is looking forward to playing well this weekend, with the 2010 PGA Championship coming up at Whistling Straits next week.
