Badgers’ Borland lost for remainder of season

September 21, 2010 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin Badger head coach Bret Bielema announced today that

Chris Borland

sophomore linebacker Chris Borland, who re-injured his left shoulder for the second time this season against Arizona State, will miss the remainder of the season.

Borland’s loss will be a big blow to the Wisconsin defense.  He was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year last season.

Borland started two games this season, but had to leave both games after aggravating his shoulder injury.  Prior to this season, Borland was named to the preseason watch lists for the Bednarik Award, Butkus Award, Rotary Lombardi Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
