Duffy vs. Lassa, Ribble vs. Kagen

September 14, 2010 By Bob Hague

Former reality TV star Sean Duffy won the Republican primary Tuesday for the U.S. House seat being vacated by veteran Democrat Dave Obey. Duffy, the Ashland County District Attorney who was once a cast member on MTV’s “The Real World,” defeated Wood County farmer Dan Mielke. He’ll face state Senator Julie Lassa who easily won the Democratic primary in the 7th Congressional District in northwestern and north central Wisconsin.

In the 8th Congressional District, which includes Green Bay and Fox Valley, roofing contractor Reid Ribble defeated state Representative Roger Roth and former state Rep. Terry McCormick in the GOP primary. Ribble will face incumbent Appleton Democrat Steve Kagen in November.
