Fighting with Bob in Baraboo

September 10, 2010 By WRN Contributor

It’s a big weekend for “Progressives” in Wisconsin.

Forget the bickering in the GOP primary for governor and warnings of big losses for Democrats in Congress and the state Legislature in November. It’s time for the 9th annual Fighting Bob Fest, taking place in Baraboo Saturday.

The event is named after former Wisconsin Governor and Senator Bob La Follette. Organizer Ed Garvey describes it as music, poetry and good food, along with setting the progressive agenda for the next year.

Garvey is hoping up to 10,000 people will attend. Among the featured speakers this year is civil rights leader Jesse Jackson.
