Packers’ Grant out for season

September 14, 2010 By Bill Scott

According to reports, Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant is out for

Ryan Grant

the season after injuring his ankle in the 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Jay Glazer first reported on FoxSports.com that Grant will be placed on injured reserve.

The injury occurred in the second quarter on an 18-yard pickup.  Grant got up after the tackle in obvious pain.

Grant had 45 yards on 8 carries prior to the injury and Packers running backs coach Edgar Bennett said Grant was just starting to make some headway.

Grant rushed for more than 12-hundred yards in each of the last two seasons.

The Packers will now be looking for backup help.  Brandon Jackson, who is expected to start on Sunday against Buffalo, rushed 18 times for 63 yards in Grant’s absence.
