September 27, 2010 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin Badger running back James White has been named the Big

James White

TenConference’s Freshman of the Week after a breakout performance in Wisconsin’s 70-3 win over Austin Peay on Saturday.

White rushed for a career-high 145 yards on 11 carries and joined Ron Dayne as the only other freshman running back in school history to score four rushing touchdowns.  White’s 13.2 yards per carry average is the fourth-highest total in UW history (min. 10 attempts).
