Wisconsin Marine killed in Afghanistan

A Wisconsin Marine has been killed in Afghanistan. The U.S. Department of Defense said 22 year-old Marine Corporal Justin J. Cain died along with three other members of his battalion Wednesday from an improvised explosive device in southern Afghanistan. A longtime friend, told the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter that Cain had looked forward to going to Afghanistan. “He wanted to be there, and wanted to fight for our country,” she told the paper, adding that Cain as a “crazy, fun-loving guy” who enjoyed spending time in Las Vegas. Cain, a machine gunner, was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
