Badgers likely headed for the Rose Bowl

November 28, 2010 By Bill Scott

Another blowout win for the Wisconsin Badgers and it looks like they’re headed for the Rose Bowl.  The Badgers rolled to a 70-23 win over Northwestern to gain a share of the Big Ten title with Ohio State and Michigan State.

Wisconsin (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten) looks to have the inside track on the Rose Bowl, which will be determined by the Bowl Championship Series standings.  The Badgers have a lead on both the Buckeyes and Spartans in the BCS point standings and another convincing win will likely keep it that way.

The Badgers have now won four straight games by 20 or more points.  They’ve scored 201 points in the last three.  Saturday’s win over Northwestern also marks the third time this season the Badgers have scored 70 or more points.

The celebration started immediately after the game.  J.J. Watt and his teammates could become the first Badger football team to play in the Rose Bowl since 1999.
