Badgers playing for Big Ten Title; Rose Bowl

November 26, 2010 By Bill Scott

The #7 Football Badgers (6-1, 10-1) wrap up the 2010 regular season Saturday at Camp Randall as Northwestern (3-4, 7-4) visits.  The Badgers have a lot on the line.

We will start with the Big Ten Title.  A win for the Badgers Saturday will give them a share of the crown for the first time since their 1999 Rose Bowl Season.

The Badgers are currently tied with #10 Michigan State (6-1, 10-1) and #8 Ohio State (6-1, 10-1).  Ohio State hosts Michigan (7-4, 3-4) Saturday while Michigan State visits Penn State (7-4, 4-3).

So what about the Rose Bowl?  If all three teams win Saturday, the highest BCS Ranking will go.  Right now that is Wisconsin and would likely remain like that barring some huge surprise.

If two-of-three win it would go to a head-to-head tie-breaker between the two teams.  Michigan State holds the head-to-head with the Badgers because of their game earlier this season.  The Badgers hold the head-to-head with Ohio State because of their earlier game this season.  Michigan State and Ohio State did not play so they would go to the BCS Rankings.

If all three lose…BCS and everyone is laughing at the Big Ten.  Badgers and Wildcats kick at 2:30.  Michigan State and Ohio State each play at 11:00.
