Packers look to sweep the Vikings today (AUDIO)

November 21, 2010 By Bill Scott

The Green Bay Packers look to sweep their 2-game season series with the Minnesota Vikings when the two teams hook up at the Metrodome at noon today.

The Packers (6-3) are coming off of their bye week and Mike McCarthy led teams are 3-1 following a bye.  We’ll see how the Packers start out in this one.  They went into the bye with a big offensive performance against the Dallas Cowboys (45-7 win).  McCarthy gave his team the entire week off last week.  The challenge is to return to the field today without being lethargic.

The Packers won the first meeting against the Vikings 28-24 back on October 24th at Lambeau Field.  Brett Favre was picked off 3-times in that game, yet still almost brought the Vikings from behind in the final minute.

The Vikings do get back one of their weapons today, wide receiver Sidney Rice.  He had off-season hip surgery and was activated from the P.U.P. list on Saturday.

The Packers need a win to keep pace with the Chicago Bears (7-3), who shutout Miami 16-0 on Thursday.

This could be it for the Vikings (3-6).  A loss to the Packers today and their playoff chances could be history.

Packers DE Cullen Jenkins looks forward to today’s rematch against the Vikings.  He missed the first game after being hurt in pre-game warmups.
