Walker transition moving ahead (AUDIO)

November 8, 2010 By Bob Hague

The governor-elect’s transition team is moving forward. John Hiller with the Scott Walker transition team said Monday it’s still too soon to say who might get picked to fill key cabinet positions. “We have no specific time line right now,” said Hiller. “We’re going to be patient and find the best people.” The Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee Monday approved an $82,723 budget for the Walker transition – some $5,000 less than the Doyle team received in 2002.

“We’re going to put a team together that works well together,” said Hiller, when asked whether or not Walker will have one person to act as a right-hand man or woman as did Jim Doyle and Tommy Thompson. “No, I think we’ll have a team. We’ll have a team of key people.” Hiller also said a working group is being formed to discuss legislative initiatives. In addition, he said that Doyle and Walker were scheduled to meet face to face on Monday afternoon.
