Brewers make selection in Rule 5 Draft

The Milwaukee Brewers today selected right handed pitcher Patrick Egan in the Major League Portion of the Rule 5 Draft (9th overall) off the Triple-A Norfolk roster of the Baltimore Orioles at the the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings.

The 26 year old Egan went a combined 7-2 with a 3.44 ERA in 49 relief appearances between Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Bowie.  He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

The Brewers also lost RHP Adrian Rosario to Baltimore (4th overall) in the Major League phase.

The 21 year old Rosario pitched for Rookie Helena and Class-A Wisconsin in the Brewers organization last season, going a combined 5-0 with a 3.50 ERA.  He had 3 saves in 19 relief appearances.
