Wisconsin & Marquette meet for 117th time Saturday

December 10, 2010 By Bill Scott

Long-time rivals, Wisconsin and Marquette hook up in men’s college basketball on Saturday at the Bradley Center.  The two schools are meeting for the 117th time with Wisconsin holding the all-time series lead 63-53.

The Badgers won last years match-up 72-63 at the Kohl Center and Marquette is looking for some revenge.  The two teams don’t like each other and Golden Eagles forward Jimmy Butler said to beat UW, they have to leave it all on the line.

Wisconsin’s Rob Wilson said he learned about the Wisconsin/Marquette series from a former Badger, Joe Krabbenhoft.

Both teams enter with 7-2 records.  Marquette already has wins over Milwaukee and Green Bay.  A win over Wisconsin would give them a clean sweep of the Division 1 programs in Wisconsin this year.
