Women’s state college basketball

Lisa Stone returned to Drake, the team she coached to a 64-27 record from 2001-2003, and helped her Wisconsin Badgers pull out a 60-49 road victory.

The Badgers ended a 7-game losing streak in the win.  Alyssa Karel poured in 24 to lead the Badgers.

Marquette

Maya Moore scored a season-high 31 points and top ranked Connecticutt rolled to a 79-47 win over the Marquette Golden Eagles in Storrs, Connecticutt.  The senior All-American was 12 of 18 from the field with 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 5 blocks. 

U-Conn pulled within a game of UCLA’s record 88-game winning streak.  The UCLA men’s team set the Division I record in January of 1974.

Angel Robinson had 15 to lead Marquette (7-2) in the loss.
