Body found in rural Rock County

January 31, 2011 By WRN Contributor

Rock County Sheriff’s investigators are trying to figure out how a body came to rest near a ditch line southwest of Ofordville. Sheriff Robert Spoden said investigators spent hours Monday afternoon collecting evidence in anticipation the predicted blizzard would obliterate what could be a crime scene. “We treat it as crime scene until we have evidence that indicates otherwise,” Spoden said.

A property owner walking on his land discovered the body. The sheriff’s department does not know of anyone reported missing in the area, and Spoden said the location of the body and the time it may have been exposed to the elements complicated evidence collection.
