Goode signs extension with Packers (AUDIO)

January 6, 2011 By Bill Scott

After Desmond Bishop signed a 4-year, $18-million contract extension over the weekend, Green Bay Packers long-snapper Brett Goode signed a new 2-year deal worth $1.6-million.

Goode was set to become a restricted free agent in March, but signed the 2-year deal with the Packers.  The deal reportedly includes a signing bonus of $300,000.

Goodeoriginally signed with the Packers on Sept. 1 of 2008.

Desmond Bishop’s deal includes $5-million in guaranteed money.   Bishop, in his 4th season, said it took awhile but good things come to those who wait.

Bishop’s current contract was set to expire at the end of the season, likely allowing him to take a shot at free agency.  Once a popular thought for Bishop, he said he changed his mind quickly with the new deal.
