Packers to cover assistant coaching salaries

January 31, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Green Bay Packers say they will cover the salaries of their twenty assistant coaches if the league decides to lock out its players.

The league year officially ends March 3, and without a new labor deal, the expectation is that management will lock out the players until a settlement is reached.

That would mean no free agency and no off-season workout program.
