Brewers avoid arbitration with Marcum

February 10, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers avoided an arbitration hearing with newly acquired pitcher Shaun Marcum.  The two sides agreed to a 1-year deal worth $3.95-million late last night.  The deal was first reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

It’s a big raise for Marcum, who made $850,000 last season while going 13-8 with a 3.64 ERA.

Second baseman Rickie Weeks remains the only Brewer still in arbitration.
