Mixed bag for Wisconsin drivers at Daytona

February 21, 2011 By Bill Scott

Trevor Bayne has become the youngest winner of the Daytona 500, doing it the day after his 20th birthday.  Bayne finished just 0.118 seconds ahead of Carl Edwards.

The race has a record 74 lead changes among 22 drivers, and a record 16 cautions that knocked out many of the leaders.

Crashes cost Wisconsin Drivers Travis Kvapil and Matt Kenseth who finished 32nd and 34th respectively.  Eau Claire’s Paul Menard was able to stay out of trouble on the track, finishing 9th.
