For the 4th time in the last 6-years, the Wisconsin Badgers take home the National Championship for Women’s Hockey. Sunday, the Badgers defeated Boston University 4-1 in the Finals of the Frozen Four from Erie, Pennsylvania.
Carolyne Prevost netted a pair of goals to lead the Badgers to victory. Senior Meghan Duggan and Junior Hilary Knight shared the Frozen Four MVP Honors. Wisconsin Head Coach Mark Johnson calls it quite a season:
It was quite a season for Duggan also. Saturday she was named the Patty Kazmaier Award winner as the Nation’s top player.
The team is being honored tonight at the Kohl Center with a welcome home celebration inside the Nicolas-Johnson Pavillion. The event is free to the public and begins at 6:00 PM.
