Brewers wrap up Cactus League play

The Milwaukee Brewers wrapped up Cactus League play with an 8-7 win over the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.  Newcomer Nyjer Morgan had two hits and Prince Fielder added a pair of doubles in the victory. 

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said his team is ready for the season to begin.

The Brewers will head for Cincinnati where they’ll open the regular season tomorrow (Thursday) against the Reds.

Boggs returns

Outfielder Brandon Boggs cleared waivers and was assigned outright to Triple A Nashville.  Boggs has until this morning to inform the Brewers whether he’ll accept the assignment or become a free agent.
